Readable text in dark mode, and two small fixes
This week's changes are all about things being easier to read, whether that is your own colour scheme in dark mode, a quiet week on Insights, or a button name read aloud by a screen reader.
Text in your brand colour is now readable in dark mode
On the console home screen, text shown in your institution's brand colour, your name in the greeting, every Quick Link, and the small action link on each card, was too faint to read comfortably against the dark background. It looked switched off rather than like the accent it was meant to be. That text now uses a readable version of your brand colour instead, including while hovering, and is easy to read in both light and dark mode.
What did not change: this only affects text. Your brand colour still appears exactly as before anywhere it is used as a fill, such as on buttons and badges, and light mode looks the same as it did.
Two small fixes
- On Insights, a stretch of weeks where no single concern stood out used to be marked with a bare full stop. It is now shown as a dash, matching how the page already marks a settled week elsewhere, both on screen and in the board report PDF.
- On a phone, the student app's More tab did not announce its name to a screen reader. It does now.
The fastest answer is usually one question away.
