Local-day timing for notifications and Insights, and corrected guides
This week's thread is accuracy: places where the platform counted a day by the server's clock rather than yours, and written guidance that had drifted from what the product actually does.
Notifications and Insights now use your university's local day
A staff member assigned to support a student is notified using the university's own local day, not the server's clock. Before, the timing could be off in the hour or two either side of midnight, because the server counts a day differently from a campus in Australia.
The same correction applies to the Insights "activity per day" chart. Each bar now represents a day on your university's calendar, so activity late in the evening is counted on the day it happened for your students rather than being pushed into the next one.
What did not change: no activity was lost or double counted. Totals over a longer period are the same; only the boundary between one day and the next moves, and only near midnight.
Two staff guides no longer name a button that was removed
Two staff guides still told you to use a "to-do" button, which stopped existing in August when to-dos became checkable blocks within the weekly content. Both guides now describe the checkable block that replaced it, so the steps match what you see on screen.
Small factual gaps closed in the roles help article and the privacy policy
The roles and access help article was missing one permission from its list, and the student privacy policy was missing a vendor row from its table of service providers. Both are now complete.
What did not change: no permission was added or widened, and no new vendor was introduced. The pages now state what was already true.
The fastest answer is usually one question away.
